Hi there, I have a Canon Pro 9000 and I am having problem with it recognising a genuine cyan cartridge. It has also told told that two cyan cartridges are installed

Any suggestions.

Many thanks,

Roy

I have just bought some alternative replacement ink cartridges for Epson Stylus C66 and error message is ink cartridges not recognised. What can I do to override this?
Many Thanks
Any suggestions appreciated.
M

Margaret -

You can try cycling your printer to see if it clears the error messages. Typically an error message like that would mean that the cartridge is defective in some way, so if that is the case then you should see about exchanging them. If you had a message telling you that the cartridges were still empty, then that might be easier to fix, but if they are not recognized then the chips on the cartridges are probably defective.

My HP Photosmart 8450 says that my black cartridge (HP 94) is not compatible after I refilled it. I've tried unplugging my printer for several minutes many times with no luck at getting it to change its mind. Any other suggestions?

Why won't my HP 97 color cartridge take a refill? The black HP94 does just fine. I've always been able to refill other color carts ie HP78. Is there something different about the ink conistancy or can the head be ruined if run without ink for a brief time?

Bi -

Sometimes cartridges can't be refilled for reasons out of your control. Occasionally they will get worn out after one use, and you won't really be able to tell because it's an internal problem. This is very rare, but it can happen. What is more common is a cartridge drying out and then becoming blocked, so that even if you refill it, the ink won't come out. This can happen in a matter of weeks once a cartridge is empty, so it's important to refill as soon as a cartridge is empty.

You can try soaking your cartridge if there is ink in there that won't come out.

This is a problem with many printers and the printer software. I have faced this problem too. I think that if we reconnect the printer, the problem is solved. I had to call in an engineer to fix the problem once. There are times when every machine starts to behave strangely. So, you don't need to panic at those times.
