A 50.4 error message on your HP printer indicates a problem with the power supply. This message is more prevalent on new HP LaserJet printers.

If your printer is connected to a power strip, you should disconnect it and plug it directly in to a wall outlet.
According to most printer technicians, laser printers should not be plugged into a power strip because the
power surges that power strips prevent are necessary to keep the fuser warm.

If plugging the printer in to a wall outlet does not remedy your problem, take a minute to make sure all the components in the printer are seated properly.
